Privacy Policy (StudyMe.ai)
Effective date: 6 January 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fautor ApS (“StudyMe”, “we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use StudyMe.ai (the “Service”).
1) Data controller
Fautor ApS (Denmark)
Attn: Sune de Montgomery Nørgård
CVR: 45678938
Email: contact@studyme.ai
2) What StudyMe.ai does
StudyMe.ai hosts interactive lessons created in ChatGPT using the StudyMe app and made available via a unique StudyMe.ai link. Lessons can be opened by anyone with the link. Logged-in users can save and edit lessons in an account.
3) Scope and OpenAI (ChatGPT) processing
This Privacy Policy covers StudyMe.ai.
Lesson creation happens inside the regular ChatGPT chat provided by OpenAI. Prompts and messages you enter in ChatGPT are processed by OpenAI under OpenAI’s own privacy policy and terms. StudyMe.ai does not control how OpenAI processes your prompts/messages.
When a lesson is published to StudyMe.ai, the resulting lesson content is made available to us for hosting and display on StudyMe.ai (as described below).
4) Two types of users
A) Learners (people who open a lesson link)
- You can use a lesson without creating an account.
- Your answers and lesson interactions are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers.
- We do not collect or store your answers, scores, completion status, or progress.
B) Creators (logged-in users who save/edit lessons)
- If you create an account, we process account data and the lessons you choose to save.
5) Personal data we process
A) Creator account data (logged-in users)
- Email address and any optional profile details you choose to provide.
- Support communications if you contact us.
Social login (Google and other providers)
If you choose to sign in using a third-party login provider (such as Google), we receive certain account information from that provider, typically your email address, name, basic profile information, and a provider-specific user ID. We do not receive your password. The exact data depends on the provider and the permissions you grant.
B) Lesson content (hosted on StudyMe.ai)
We process lesson content as needed to host and display lessons (and, for creators, to enable saving and editing). Lesson content may include questions, tasks, explanations, and other lesson elements.
Link access: Anyone with the link can view the lesson. Please avoid including personal, sensitive, or confidential information in lesson content.
C) Technical logs (all visitors)
We process technical logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, such as:
- IP address, timestamps, requested pages/URLs, referring/exit pages
- Basic device/browser information (e.g., browser type, operating system, language)
- Diagnostic and security-related events
6) Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies for core functionality and security.
- Non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics) only if you consent.
You can change or withdraw consent at any time via our cookie settings and/or your browser settings.
Cookie Policy (EU): https://studyme.ai/cookie-policy-eu/
7) How we use data
We use personal data to:
- Provide and operate the Service (including hosting and displaying lessons).
- Provide creator account features (login, saving, editing, managing lessons).
- Authenticate users via email/password or social login (where enabled).
- Respond to support requests.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse/fraud, and troubleshoot issues (including via technical logs).
- Improve and develop the Service (e.g., performance and reliability; analytics only if enabled and consented to).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
8) Legal bases (EEA/UK – GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide creator account features and hosting you request.
- Legitimate interests: to run, secure, and improve the Service (e.g., technical logs, abuse prevention, reliability).
- Consent: for non-essential cookies/analytics (where enabled).
- Legal obligation: where required.
9) Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal data.
We may share personal data with:
- Service providers (processors) who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting/infrastructure, security, error monitoring, analytics if enabled and consented). They may process data only on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards.
- Authentication providers (social login): If you choose social login, the selected provider processes your login according to its own terms and privacy policy, and shares limited account information with us to enable authentication.
- Legal and safety disclosures where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers (e.g., merger, acquisition, restructuring), subject to appropriate safeguards and notices where required by law.
10) International transfers
We are based in Denmark, but some service providers may process data outside your country, potentially outside the EEA/UK.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and additional measures where necessary.
11) Retention
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including legal and security needs.
Key points:
- Learner answers/progress: not collected and not retained (client-side only).
- Saved lessons and creator account data: retained while your account is active or until you delete them (and for a limited time in backups as needed for security and reliability).
- Technical logs: retained for a limited period for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
12) Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
13) Children
Lessons may be used by learners of all ages via a lesson link. Learner answers and lesson interactions are processed locally in the user’s browser and are not transmitted to our servers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from learners through their lesson answers or progress.
Creator accounts are not intended for children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will take steps to delete the account and associated data.
Non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics) are used only with consent. If you are under 13, please do not provide consent yourself; ask a parent or guardian.
14) Your rights
If you are in the EEA/UK, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, object, and (where applicable) data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g., non-essential cookies).
To exercise your rights, contact: contact@studyme.ai
15) Complaints
EEA/UK
You can lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA) in your country of habitual residence, place of work, or where the alleged infringement took place. Since we are established in Denmark, the Danish DPA (Datatilsynet) may act as lead supervisory authority in cross-border cases.
Denmark: Datatilsynet (Danish Data Protection Agency).
Outside the EEA/UK
You may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local privacy/data protection authority under applicable local law.
16) Third-party links and services
The Service may reference third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. For ChatGPT, please review OpenAI’s privacy policy and terms.
17) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
