Terms of Use (StudyMe.ai)
Effective date: 6 January 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of StudyMe.ai (the “Service”). The Service is owned and operated by Fautor ApS (“StudyMe”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1) Who we are
Fautor ApS (Denmark)
Attn: Sune de Montgomery Nørgård
CVR: 45678938
Email: contact@studyme.ai
2) What the Service does
StudyMe.ai hosts interactive lessons created in the regular ChatGPT chat using the StudyMe app and published to a unique StudyMe.ai link (“Lesson Link”). Anyone with a Lesson Link can open and use the lesson.
Some users (“Creators”) can log in to save, copy, and edit lessons in an account. People who open and use lessons via a Lesson Link without an account are “Learners”.
3) Definitions
- “Lesson” means the lesson content hosted on StudyMe.ai (e.g., questions, tasks, explanations, structure).
- “Content” means any Lesson content or other materials you upload, submit, publish, or make available through the Service.
- “Creator” means a user who logs in to save/copy/edit lessons.
- “Learner” means a user who opens and uses a Lesson Link without logging in.
4) Eligibility and age
The Service may be used by Learners of any age via a Lesson Link.
Creator accounts are intended for users 15 years and older. If you are under 18, you may use Creator account features only if you have permission from a parent or legal guardian (where required by applicable law).
We may suspend or delete accounts we believe are used in violation of this section.
5) Accounts and social login
Creators may sign in using email/password or third-party social login providers (such as Google), where enabled.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials,
- All activity that occurs under your account,
- Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
We may disable or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service.
6) Learner answers are processed client-side
When a Learner uses a lesson:
- Answers and lesson interactions are processed locally in the Learner’s browser and are not transmitted to our servers.
- We do not collect or store Learner answers, completion status, or progress.
(We may still process limited technical logs for security and operation of the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.)
7) Lesson links and sharing
Lessons accessible via a Lesson Link may be viewed by anyone who has the link. Treat Lesson Links as shareable content.
You are responsible for deciding who you share links with. We are not responsible for access by people you or others share the link with.
8) Unsaved lessons and deletion
Unless a lesson is saved to a Creator account:
- Lessons that are not saved may be automatically deleted after approximately one week.
Saved lessons remain available in your account until you delete them (subject to limited backup retention as described in our Privacy Policy).
We do not guarantee that any Content will be available forever and may remove Content to comply with law, protect users, or enforce these Terms.
9) Your Content: responsibility and permissions
You are responsible for all Content you create, publish, save, or share through the Service.
You agree not to create or share Content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable,
- Infringes or violates intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark, etc.),
- Violates privacy or data protection laws, including by sharing personal data without a lawful basis,
- Contains sensitive or confidential information (especially about others).
If you use the Service on behalf of a school or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms and that your use complies with applicable laws and policies.
10) License to host and display lessons
You retain ownership of your Content as between you and StudyMe.
However, by submitting or publishing Content through the Service, you grant StudyMe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your Content solely to operate, maintain, and provide the Service, including making lessons available via Lesson Links and enabling Creator features (saving, copying, editing).
If you delete Content, this license ends for that Content, except to the extent we must keep limited copies for legal, security, or backup purposes.
11) Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts,
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or bypass security measures,
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law),
- Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or automated scraping at scale,
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including by excessive automated requests).
We may investigate and take action (including suspension/termination) for suspected violations.
12) AI content and OpenAI processing
Lesson creation happens inside ChatGPT and is processed by OpenAI under OpenAI’s own policies and terms. StudyMe does not control OpenAI’s processing of prompts/messages.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing lessons before sharing or using them, especially in educational contexts.
13) Intellectual property (our Service)
The Service (including its software, design, and branding) is owned by Fautor ApS, except for third-party materials that may be used under license, and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.
14) Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data, including technical logs and Creator account data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.
15) Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that lessons will always be available.
16) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyMe will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.
17) Indemnity
If you are a Creator, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudyMe from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- Your Content,
- Your use of the Service,
- Your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
18) Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access (including your account) if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service and users.
19) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the effective date above. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
20) Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought before the courts of Denmark, unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise.
